Fido
was born December 19, 1996. He is a brindle and white bred by Ms. Wilma
P. Bauer. Mrs. Susan Coe owned Fido as a puppy and then upon her move to
Australia in 2001, he moved in with Dana and Kim Byrd, KISA.
As
of this writing, Fido is on the Stud Dog Honor Roll and is the sire of
18 champion children in the United States, with several more on their
way. He is appreciated for his ability to produce lovely sidegait movement,
beautiful eyes, toplines and general sweet temperaments.
We
have been breeding, showing, and loving Basenjis since 1989. Our mentor,
Susan Coe, of the famous Akuaba name, taught us to work hard to breed healthy
and good tempered dogs and we have thoroughly enjoyed doing so.
In 1988 and 1989 the Basenji Club of America imported Basenjis from Africa to
increase the gene pool. With Mrs. Coe's gentle guidance, we have included them
in our breeding program.
In fact! Avongara Imba Tena (lovingly called
Fido) lives with us today.
Check
out his official page at http://www.basenji.org/african/ImbaTena.htm
We show our Basenjis in competition at American Kennel Club shows around the
United States and have competed in Europe. It's a fun and exciting hobby that
allows us to enjoy our dogs and dear Friends.
We test our Basenjis for Fanconi before breeding. Our puppies are sold with a
placement contract, medical information, and are
spayed and neutered. Please click this
